Desert dust fills my lungs. The walls and doors I've hidden behind are now all gone. Sandy dune for a bed. A dreamer's dream dreamt in the night wide awake. Then a flurry of feathers appears above. A streak in the night on a path undone. (little owl) "There's something that you need to see." Do I dare to follow or dare to run? Analysis paralysis. The ruin of one. (Desert Boy) "There's something that I need to be." A fire in the fireplace but no home. (little owl) "So let's reclaim peace in this head once again. The warmth in the night that left your stead. The rest that you crave at day's end. Let's dream of the farther places ahead. A place where The Stars themselves have tread. 'Cos a dream is all you got when every day finds its end." (Desert Boy & little owl) "Let's reclaim! Let's reclaim! Let's reclaim! Let's reclaim!"

(Desert Boy) "The wind starts to blow. The land is afloat. A breathless gasp as I start to coast. A desert storm. A dusty pall. A glowing isle. A distant call that goes like…" The Stars look down to this Desert Boy as he flies through the night but has no joy. (The Stars) “C’mon now kid, you’re on your way.” On this desert night, he only sees her face. (Desert Boy) "I’m the scientist and you’re the star. I’m admiring from afar. Won’t you stop short in your footsteps so that I can see those eyes again? And maybe I’m just a boy with his heart is in hands and his head on the floor. But these Stars at night fuel this flight. All my dreams are the same. Floating along, up in the stars." The owl lands in The Ruins. Burning eyes, absent grin. (little owl) “If you won’t move you’re as good as dead.” (Desert Boy) "It shows the way, but I stay home instead. There’s a starry sky within my room, as I lay beneath a milky moon. But she occupies any empty space. In this painted scene, she’s still the one I chase. All my dreams are the same. I’m up in the stars again. I’m floating along again. All my dreams are the same. I’m up in the stars again, still lost in your eyes again."

So I'll speak like I'm still asleep 'cos I need this reality to match the sweet peace of my dreams... please. Cos' I see you every week and it gets harder to breathe. When you catch my glance across the room, I feel so weak. Then I wake up, wake up, 'cos you're everything I dream. When I wake up, wake up, will you be everything I need? There's a place beyond the trees where the stardust gets to me. Collapsed light from your eyes brings me down to my knees. Cos' you see me every week. Does it get harder to breathe? Through the seats, the doors, a crowded room - this breadth of unseen reach. Then I wake up, wake up, 'cos you're everything I dream. When I wake up, wake up, will you be everything I need? 'Cos it's a cold world at 3 am wondering if this ever ends. But I know I'm worth the truth, so I know the wait is worth you. Stardust from your eyes. Drowning in your endless light, the furthest from your mind. Then I wake up, wake up, 'cos you're everything I dream. When I wake up, wake up, will you be everything I need? 'Cos it's a cold world at 3 am wondering if this ever ends. But I know I'm worth the truth, so I know the wait is worth you. So I know the wait is worth you. Yes, I know the wait is worth you.

Small Town 01:54
I’m from a small town with smoke rising from the rooftop chimneys, telling me someone's sitting warm and cozy, which feels alright.

Like a book you read in the forest, or fireworks you saw when you were 2: the ending often came before you realized. It’s the end of another era, often without your consent. Was it all just a dream? Lift up these covers, let it all out 'cos we got no time to doubt. Climax approaching, the sun’s coming down. Let this chapter end for now. Sometimes it feels like you’re caught in a play, and you’ve got no lines to say. But from this cliff I’ll hang. Is there a secret to be had to keep your mind at ease when all these conversations still have yet to grow cold, but every single second takes a lifetime to unfold? This life’s a balancing act, and I’m the character in scene. Stuck in-between, just being. Lift up these covers, let it all out 'cos we got no time to doubt. Climax approaching, the sun’s coming down. Let this chapter end for now. Sometimes it feels like you’re caught in a play, and you’ve got no lines to say. But from this cliff I’ll hang, from this cliff I'll hang. You’ve got me on the edge, on this cliff left to hang. I’m the character in scene. Stuck in-between, just being.

If I could fly, I'd follow the sunset. No need to question why beauty sits upon the sky. Remains until the hour is late. A waiting time eliminate. So I can live in a world where beautiful skies can't be brought to question why it always coincides.

Desert/Dust 06:48
(little owl) "Through the desert, he retreated to get the answers that he needed. Traversing ruins and dunes and caves and stone, further he found himself in the unknown. In the stillness of night, he sat on the ground and watched the sea of lights until The Stars looked down." (The Stars) "Desert Boy, why do you linger on?" (Desert Boy) Firm and bold, "For the answers that I want." (little owl) "Here's a boy who sat through all the dust. Never lost hope. Never feared to trust. But the wind gave nothing. Now, it's a desert at his feet. And The Stars at night tell him to leave." (Desert Boy) "They fear I'll never know what's good for me... I fear I'll never know what's good for me." (little owl) "Out in The Desert, he feels he's entered a dream. Like a language arts textbook scene. Yet, he mulls remarks and smiles for days after, and the waves breaching air from her infectious laughter. Can he return home a hero? Then maybe his heart she'll know. Yet, a different tune The Stars sing to tell him he's overthinking." (The Stars) "Desert Boy, why do you linger on?" (little owl) "Here's a boy who sat through all the dust. Never lost hope. Never feared to trust. But the wind gave nothing. Now, it's a desert at his feet. And The Stars at night tell him to leave." (Desert Boy) "Every night... every night I sit and wait and see if anything will still be left for me. Will anything still be left for me? But the wind gave nothing. The wind gave nothing!" (little owl) "Here's a boy who sat through all the dust. Never lost hope. Never feared to trust. But the wind gave nothing. Now, it's a desert at his feet. And The Stars at night tell him to leave." (Desert Boy) "They fear I'll never know what's good for me... I fear I'll never know what's good for me." (The Stars) "Desert Boy, you know, it's not your fault. You've sat through the storm and you wait for your love. But you know in this life we can't choose what comes next. You open up your heart and hope you get nothing less. But the wind howls in deafening tones. You can make nothing out, but you know you must go. And The Stars smile down to light a path back home. And, oddly enough, you find that peace lingers on. And the words you long for from her mouth... deep down, you know they may never come out. But your love's right here, and your joy's right there. You've made it through the dust, and you'll make it through another year."

Of The Ruins 02:59
(little owl) "Have you reclaimed peace in your head once again? The warmth in the night that left your stead. The rest that you've craved at day's end. Do you dream of the farther places ahead? A place where The Stars themselves have tread. 'Cos a dream is all you got when every dream finds its end." (Desert Boy) "Then I wake up, wake up, 'cos you're everything I dream. When I wake up, wake up, will you be everything I need? All my dreams are the same. Floating along again, lost in your eyes again. All my dreams are the same. Lost in your eyes again, up in the stars again."
