I have hoped to settle anxiety's debt, but every once in a while, it's pleasure is my dread. I make for the shadows waiting for some sign that light has broke the clouds. I know I'll be alright. I refuse to live a life reserved to quiet desperation. How do I breathe when her eyes meet mine? How do I keep in this rising cry? I'm barely hanging on... but I'll go on. The autumn breeze sends a soothing call. Luminaries beam through the trees and cast shadows on the wall. They never fall, and neither will I. The early nerves linger on the edge, but they won't tear me apart as the words move from the page to my restless heart. The same streets I've walked for years look different every day. Humbled eyes moving through the land. I'll slowly make my way to the truth that some day I'll break my quiet desperation.

I thought of the ways that I would start my story. Would it be worth the read of this boy lost at sea? His heart ever longing for this one glance worth ten thousand words. A puzzling girl in her own little word. There's one day left so I'll take my steps. I'm still thinking of you no matter what I do. So I'll speak like... speak like you're a never-ending memory with only seconds left within this dream. So I'll speak like... speak like these words don't stir the fear in me. Your eyes are all the warmth I need. I thought of the ways that she'd weave through the pages. Flick of the wrist. Soft fingertips. This dance of white margins among curved jargon. There's one glance worth ten thousand words. A puzzling girl in her own little word. One thousand days since I've seen your face- I'm still thinking of you. There's a truth that she harbors, a tale that he writes of a smile that he swears can light up the night.

Love is not a destiny. Were you just testing me when you walked away and said you feel it too? It's not coincidence that you put up your fence when I stopped and said, "I want this life with you." No, love is a choice, both mine and yours for the never-ending nurturing of pureness that we hold. It's a constancy of nature, yours and mine. The calming of my winds to the shifting of your tides. You are more than what you know to me. Can our thoughts align like sun and sea? A force of nature beyond command. Horizon line, outstretched hands. But still you're out of reach... You are more than what you know to me. (You see where I stand, just grab my right hand.) Can our thoughts align like sun and sea? (And you halt my heart like you halt these stars.) A force of nature beyond command. Horizon line, outstretched hands. You were once out of reach. So, I call. Yeah, I call. And now I know that you'll reach right back to me.
